How to Nail Your Mother's Day Social Media Campaign (Without Feeling Salesy or Stuck)

Apr 28, 2025

Tell me the truth?

How often do you post about your Mother's Day Promotions? I mean really?

If you're posting about your Mother's Day offer only once and hoping for a line out the door... you're doing yourself (and your clients!) a massive disservice.

Most salon owners, clinic owners, and beauty brands think they're promoting enough...
But if we were to go back into your archive posts and see how much you've really posted? What would we see?

The truth is, a successful Mother's Day campaign  isn't just about what you're offering — it's about how often (and strategically) you're talking about it, especially when it comes to social media.

So, I've done the ground work for you and broken it down.

First Things First: It's All About Repetition (Without Being Annoying)

Here's the thing most people forget:
Your audience isn't seeing everything you post.

In 2025, the average organic reach on Instagram posts is around 8% of your followers.
Stories are current reaching between 0.8% to 6.5% — a big variable however strategy and consistency is key.

What does this mean?
Posting once about your Mother's Day promo = about 1 in 10 clients might even see it.
You're leaving 90% of your potential sales on the table.

And in-salon?
If your clients visit every 4-6 weeks, you've got one chance to tell them about your offer in person.

One 😶

So, are you consistently talking about your promotion on social media? Probably not eh? Let's change that.

Instead of repeatedly screaming "Mother's Day Special!" (which gets old fast)...

You need a mix of content that speaks to where your audience is at.

Top of Funnel (Awareness)

  • Fun posts about celebrating mums, self-care, and pampering ideas
  • Story polls: "What would your dream Mother's Day gift be?"
  • This or That (what would you rather massage or facial)
  • Relatable memes or reels about motherhood and treating yourself

Middle of Funnel (Consideration)

  • Showcase your offer: what's included, why it's special
  • BTS (behind-the-scenes) videos of gift packages being wrapped
  • Client testimonials or reviews ("Best Mother's Day gift ever!")

 Bottom of Funnel (Conversion)

  • Direct reminders: "Don't forget, last day to book!"
  • Countdown stickers in Stories
  • Limited availability posts: "Only five gift packs left!"

Your New Mother's Day Social Media Plan (Actionable + Easy)

Here's what you should be aiming for over a 6-week promo window:

  • Feed Posts: 2-3 posts a week that tie into your campaign (awareness, consideration, conversion mix)
  • Stories: 3-5 frames every. Single. Day. (Don't worry — Stories can be chill! Think: BTS snaps, Q&As, reminders)
  • Pin a Promo Post to Your Feed: Keep it front and center so new visitors immediately see it.
  • Create a Highlights Reel: Save your best Mother's Day stories so they live on your profile (even if someone finds you late!)
  • Talk About It in Person: Even if you feel awkward. The client sitting in your salon wants easy gift ideas!

Quick Recap (Because I Know You're Busy)

  • ✔️ Posting once is not enough
  • ✔️ Your audience needs to see it multiple times in different ways
  • ✔️ Use Top, Middle, and Bottom of Funnel content to nurture buyers
  • ✔️ Be consistent, especially on Stories
  • ✔️ You only get one shot with in-salon clients — don't waste it!

To ensure your promotions are a success, we need to be putting in the work. No only in salon, but also on socials.
